Sashiko Hanafukin fabric design on white cotton. Fabric only.

Stitch in any colour or combination of colours of your choice

This printed fabric is made by Naska in Japan

All of the packaging is in Japanese.

If you do wish to translate, it is very easy to do this with your phone and google translate as you can see in the images.

This is a Hanafukin / flower cloth set

Set contents:  flower cloth x 1

Instructions and order of stitching are also shown on this listing. The translation isn't great but the images make it obvious (I hope)

Each panel has the printed design plus an equal amount of plain fabric, this can be used as backing or you can sew through both layers of fabric with your embroidery

the panel is 35 x 38 cm

Fabric is 100% cotton

The printed design will wash out

Sashiko embroidery is quite different to other forms of embroidery.

A hoop is not used.

The needle is long and inflexible  - this is so that several of the sashiko running stitches can be gathered onto the needle at once.

The fabric is then pulled taut to distribute the thread evenly and ensure there is no puckering.

It is basically a simple running stitch that creates this beautiful (and very addictive) form of embroidery.
