Only the chip is included, of course.No soldering is required for updating your module.You have to just pull off the old chip and VERY carefully put the updated chip onto the socket. Not a really difficult task, you only need a screwdriver and, maybe, an extraction tool if you are not really confident. You have to pay the right attention, BTW.
Check the correct insertion direction!! Check the correct insertion of all the pins before pushing all the way the chip in the socket!!IMPORTANT!! Don't open your module with the power cable connected to it!!!!
If you are not totally sure about how proceed, then better leave the task to a technician.
To check your D-550 firmware version use this switch combination:
Keep pressing Patch BANK 2, Patch NUMBER 6 and EDIT, while powering on the module.
If you see 1.02 version, then you don't need this upgrade chip!This chip is not working for a D-50 keyboard, if you need one, just let me know, I can supply what you need.
