Description

We are pleased to be offering today fresh out of a local farmhouse is this beautiful original finish oak Victorian platform rocker that dates from the 1890s original condition. It doesn’t appear to have ever been used. It was sitting in the attic. The finish is dark and aged to a lovely patina. I believe the seat is original. It has a dainty carved press back, multi-turn spindles, knuckle arms, multi-turn spindles on the platform base and original castors. This is a great find for those who love original finish antiques. The overall size is 23 inches wide across the arms, 17 inches wide on the seat, 19 inches deep, 40 inches high to the chair back, 26 inches high to the arm and 16 inches high to the seat. The platform has two coil springs that allows the rocking chair top to ride on the platform base. It works as it should and is all tight and sturdy. Shipping starts at $185 for a driveway delivery in our normal New England delivery area.
