In good condition overall, signs of handling and surface wear from age and use with issues, some pieces of wood either missing or partially damaged veneer, raised veneer, see photos for details, it's an old antique box in used condition, so issues of handling, use, unknown which pieces may be missing, two slots for a small divider but no small divider, like the latch for a writing board tells me the board goes there, but there is no board, this auction is for the main box as shown in the photos, plus the one curved piece of wood for placing pens and nibs, the plate on the lock is missing, so some restauration may be in order leave it as it now appears. The beautiful inlaid appears to be different woods and some inking drawing of black lines and coloring possibly, unknown technique to me, but I am not an expert, a fine image of a wine glass and pitcher. Unusual and unique find. No apparent markings. Fine sturdy construction in general. Delicate design. Likely European in make.
