This is a tan leather travel case dating back to the 1940s, with 2 brass lever locks to the front to keep the contents secure and a leather cladded handle, complete with its original canvas cover. The outside of the case is embossed with the initials of the original owner: 'G.F' Along with the world-renowned maker: 'Mappin & Webb Ltd Oxford S.I London.W' 'Mappin & Webb (M&W) is an international jewellery company headquartered in England. Mappin & Webb traces its origins to a silver workshop founded in Sheffield in 1775; 248 years ago. Mappin & Webb has held Royal Warrants to British monarchs since 1897. The company's master craftsman Mark Appleby is the current Crown Jeweller of the United Kingdom.' The case opens to reveal a large inner compartment lined with full-grain tan leather. There is an A4 document compartment, 4 bottle compartments, 3 brush compartments, a soap compartment, a comb compartment and a side compartment. The case comes complete with 3 original rosewood brushes all embossed: 'Made in England' Along with 4 cut glass cosmetic bottles, each with a silver top hallmarked for: 'London 1946' With a silversmith: 'T.P' There is also an original comb in the compartment.
