VHS Release Date:  1986; production code on VHS cassette not entirely legible; our best estimate is 111186 (Nov. 11, 1986) though that seems impossible to confirm at this point.  Either way, the date would be consistent with known production dates for this early VHS release.

NOTE:  VHS tape is offered specifically for archival purposes; and is not intended for viewing due to the generally unstable condition of videotape after more than a quarter century in storage.  Such video recordings are offered primarily as a rare offering from Frank's personal animation media collection; not intended for use without guidance from a qualified conservator / specialist in media preservation.

Very good condition; previously viewed

The collection from which this tape comes was originally preserved within the family's media library at the home where Frank and Jeanette Thomas raised their family in Flintridge, California.  Frank’s friend and fellow Disney animator Ollie Johnston lived next door with his wife, Marie, and their family.  Their stories are presented in the timeless feature documentary film, “Frank and Ollie”, produced by Frank’s son, Theodore Thomas and his wife Kuniko Okubo.

Among the most trusted artists ever to work with Walt Disney, Frank Thomas was a key member of the fabled animation team known as Walt Disney’s “nine old men.”  Frank's contributions to the canon of beloved Walt Disney animated films placed him at the center of studio production throughout Walt’s lifetime.

Includes official Certificate of Authenticity signed by Saturday's Toys founder Dave Mason on behalf of the family of animator Frank Thomas.

Saturday’s Toys and Collectibles was founded in 1994 by Southern California author and media historian, Dave Mason. Soon after eBay's launch the following year, Saturday's Toys was among the first online specialists to strategize in embracing this rapidly developing technology. Having delivered over 15,000 coveted treasures since that time, Saturday's Toys is pleased to partner with researchers and collectors throughout the globe.

Today, online offerings of archival keepsakes are presented in celebration of the times that allow for family, friends and neighbors to join in memorable gatherings that nurture the strong connections that bind a community together. These treasures are affectionately represented by "Saturday's Toys." In that light we present our adopted motto (with a nod to the Sherman Brothers): "Oh, let's go fly a kite!"
