American Naval Scout Bomber WW2

BTD-1 Douglas "Destroyer"

The Douglas Destroyer was an American dive bomber developed for the Navy during World War II. The plane had excellent performance, being much faster and carrying nearly double the bomb load of the Helldiver.. The U.S. Navy later changed its requirements wanting a single-seat carrier-based torpedo/dive bombers without defensive turrets. Douglas reworked the SB2D by removing the turrets and second crewman, while adding more fuel and armor, producing the Destroyer.
