Disneyland Line Parking Lot SIGN Entry 1991 Fantasmic Construction Walt Disney

Historic Disneyland Treasures from Saturday's Toys presents...  a vintage issue of the Disneyland Line cast member newsletter

September 27, 1991; Volume 23, Number 40.  Editor:  Dore Redfern

Features a cover photo of the classic Disneyland Entrance Sign... from Harbor Boulevard... as taken within the Disneyland parking entrance... with adjacent businesses seen in the background; including a rare image of Melodyland (originally opened in 1963 as a concert venue; later sold to a local area church; eventually demolished in 2003).  The electronic marquee is promoting "Ride Share Day."

The dredging of the Rivers of America is pictured with an article about the upcoming "Imagination River Show."  Though the new attraction was already under construction and scheduled to open within 7 months, the name "Fantasmic!" had still not yet been determined... with continued reference to "Imagination."  Interesting reference to the demolition of the original "old grist mill"... and their plans to build a new grist mill where the bait shack once stood.

1992 Disneyland Ambassador semi-finalists are announced.  "The Man Behind the Magic: The Story of Walt Disney" by Katherine and Richard Greene is announced; retailing inside Disneyland for $16.95.

Saturday’s Toys and Collectibles was founded in 1994 by Southern California author and media historian, Dave Mason. Soon after eBay's launch the following year, Saturday's Toys was among the first online specialists to strategize in embracing this rapidly developing technology. Having delivered over 15,000 coveted treasures since that time, Saturday's Toys is pleased to partner with researchers and collectors throughout the globe.

Today, online offerings of archival keepsakes are presented in celebration of the times that allow for family, friends and neighbors to join in memorable gatherings that nurture the strong connections that bind a community together. These treasures are affectionately represented by "Saturday's Toys." In that light we present our adopted motto (with a nod to the Sherman Brothers): "Oh, let's go fly a kite!"
