Dedicated to the new generation aircraft, which is designed to carry passengers or 6 tons of cargo. Its predecessor is the AN-24 aircraft, which has been in operation for forty years. For the first time the AN-140 aircraft went on the airline in 2002, it has high technical characteristics and is commercially available at the aircraft factory in Kharkiv.

The obverse of the coin in the center in the necklace shows the small State Emblem of Ukraine surrounded by an allegorical composition of sun, stylized wing, birds and stars, which embodies the dream of humanity to reach cosmic heights, and circular inscriptions: on a silver coin - UKRAINE, 2004, 10, 2004 Hryvnia, as well as the designation of the metal and its sample - Ag 925, weight in purity - 31,1th mint logo of the National Bank of Ukraine.
The reverse of the coin shows an AN-140 aircraft and circular inscriptions are placed between the outer edge of the coin and the necklace: above - AIRCRAFT OF UKRAINE; at the bottom is the AN-140 and AN-140, between which is the `AN` logo.
