OUTSTANDING 1/6 PLATE DAGUERREOTYPE - ID'ED GIRL WITH HER MILLINERS MODEL DOLL - IN A FULL CASE - Images like the one in my listing rarely come to the market. You are considering a beautiful and identified sixth plate daguerreotype of Miss Carpenter holding her lovely Milliners model doll at five years old. Note the construction of the doll's wooden feet and papier-mache constructed head both confirming the type of doll she is holding. Lovely hand tinting was applied to both of their faces and the young girl's arms. Even the girl's dress has a deep greenish cast when held in your hands at certain angles. The image has been professionally resealed, the paper identification label still remains attached to the mat under the new glass. CONDITION: Please view my detailed photos for the actual condition of this cased images and as part of my description. Again, the sixth plate daguerreotype has resealed with P90 archival tape and fitted with a new sheet of cover glass. The image is razor sharp without any wipes. The image appears much sharper in person. The image has superb contrast and tonal range. Both subject have hand tinting applied.
