Here is a very beautiful and very finely made antique Satsuma pottery covered box with decoration of geishas, immortals, etc. Box measures about 4 1/4" in diameter and about 1 3/4" tall. It is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks except for a very shallow flake to edge of base where lid sits which has been glued back into place (see photos). Gold trim is in excellent condition without wear. There is a small spot of stray color on the underside unglazed edge of the lid, probably done in the making. Box is lavishly decorated inside and out. A really fine piece. Please see photos.
