Pepper mill in mirror polished 18/10
stainless steel with fins in light blue polyamide. Made in Italy. It belongs to
the family of objects created by the American designer Micheal Graves. This
object appeared in the movie: Matrix (Matrix, L. e A. Wachowski, 1999). It pairs perfectly with the Michael Graves salt shaker, as well as with other Michael Graves household pieces from Alessi.
Graves's personal formal language combines ideas taken from European tradition,
Art Deco, American Pop Art and memories of pre-Colombian cultures.
Michael Graves was born in
Indianapolis. He taught architecture at Princeton since 1962. His architectural
works include the Portland Building and the Humana Building, the extension of
the Whitney Museum of American Art, and the Newark Museum. He created the
best-selling 9093 kettle for Alessi.
