Ecuador has released a new series of circulating coins depicting historical figures. Remarkably, some of the denominations will be released with different obverse designs. The coins, which The Royal Mint manufactured, respectively depict the following people:

5 centavos:
Isidro Ayora, former president of Ecuador and doctor, singer, politician and philosopher

10 centavos:
Galo Plaza, former president and diplomat

10 centavos:
Jaime Roldós, former president and lawyer

25 centavos:
Oswaldo Guayasamin, painter, craftsman and sculptor

25 centavos:
Jorge Icaza, novelist

25 centavos:
Alberto Spencer, football player

50 centavos:
Tránsito Amaguaña, indigenous leader

50 centavos:

Matilde Hidalgo de Procel, doctor and the first woman to vote in Latin America

5 centavos:
