The splendid Berkel slicer in red and equipped with the original pedestal measures 138cm (height). One side of the slicer measures 75cm and the other measures 70cm. The diameter of the blade is equivalent to 35cm. The weight of the slicer corresponds to 97kg, while the weight of the pedestal is equivalent to 70kg. This exceptionally fine Berkel slicer model was produced between 1907 and 1915. Therefore this Berkel slicer model is the rarest and most expensive of its kind. The slicer was restored in the 90s, so the only non-original elements are the blade and some screws. Only the first Berkel slicers, produced between 1898 and 1922, have a floral-shaped perforated flywheel. However, since the flywheel handle is made of wood, this slicer certainly predates the 1920s. In fact, handles produced after the year 1915 are made of plastic. Since the words “Stella Duci” can be read on the slicer, the slicer proves to be produced in Italy. The slicer has no missing elements, is in excellent condition and works perfectly. The largest and most valuable Berkel slicers have blades whose diameter is equivalent to 35cm. In fact, there are no Berkel slicers larger than this one. The pedestal features lion feet, which only belong to the more expensive pedestals produced by the brand. The tray attached to the slicer is made of steel. Trays after the 1920s are made of plastic.
