This is one of the nicest vintage Jefferson Mystery Helm clocks I have in my collection. The newly installed motor assembly had to be custom engineered for this clock. These clocks are very collectable and very expensive to find in this condition. In most cases, if the motors were not recently replaced, they will need to be sometime in the near future. The motor assemblies are no longer available for the Golden Helm clocks.
Total restoration was just completed on this clock. A new motor with a new brass drive gear was just installed. The replacement motor is heavy duty and runs a little hotter than the original motor due to a little higher wattage rating. The new motor is also slightly thicker in size. The bottom cover does not fit exactly flush with the case but allows more air flow for cooling. All gears were lubed and checked the glass dial and gears were checked for proper fit and tightness. The clocks finish is in excellent condition. The clock keeps perfect time.
