This 2011 Original (OG) Reebok Melee is REAL. The OG Reebok Melee is hands down the best Senior bat on the planet. The reason why a lot guys say the Dudley Lightening is, is because 90% of the Reebok Melees sold on eBay are FAKES! I have owned a dozen OG Melees and have reviewed several of the knockoffs. They are two completely different bats. The fakes have a cotter pin holding the knob on, the OG not. The fakes have the silver paint all the way to the knob, which covers up a generic shell, the OG is resin threaded (see pic #2) that breaks up over time, which is what gives this bat the MASSIVE power. There are other features that distinguish the fakes from the OGs, but unless you see the entire bat and know the history of this bat, it can be difficult to make the distinction ... that is until you hit the two bats. This OG Melee have has not had the resin fibers separating yet. They will soon, and the ball will travel 40 feet further than the fakes. I've been meaning to write this post for some time, so that I could let guys know the truth about, not just the number of Fake Melees, but also, the many other fakes out there too. This model is 1G. There was no 1K, 4A, or some of the other fake model numbers. There was no "Made in China" sticker on the bat. I am a "max" 300' hitter; I have hit a ball off the tee with an OG Reebok Melee 360'! The "REAL" Reebok Melee is the best senior bat on the planet.
