Elegant French Commode / Classic Heavy Solid Antique Chest of Drawers

Made from Solid hardwood, this is an extremely heavy and handsome chest of drawers featuring the classic French styling that we all know and love. It has been preloved so shows signs of age and use. The top has lovely parquet veneer grained surface which is a diamond shape from the centre. It has softly curved edgings, the sides too, and the corners of the carcass are curved in the classic Normandy style. The shapely curved legs have escargot feet and each of the drawers has it's original pull handles. It could be used in most areas of the home but would be perfect in a bedroom where it will add additional storage in the three ample sized drawers. I must point out that there are a few areas of bruising to the wood and the odd scuff and blemish to the finish, but nothing to detract from the beauty and practicality of this piece. Please view photographs closely as they do add to the description. The side panels have shaped panels to match the style of that period and design plus the drawer fronts also have scalloped shaping, they are deep and extremely heavy. This is not a modern copy, it is an antique and was purchased by myself from a lady who bought it as an antique when she lived in Paris for 30 years. The parquet top or inlaid wood has a few scuffs and scratches. I will give it a polish prior to dispatch so it has been photographed at it's worst to show you all blemishes prior to waxing and polishing. Legs /plinth upon which it stands is fixed and can not be altered in height. There are a few scuffs to the solid wood finish inside the drawers, which I have not touched up, as I'd rather leave it as is as it adds to the character and charm. I do not have a key for the drawers unfortunately. Metal escutcheon plate for keyholes.
A beautiful classic commode, so if you like to have something a little different then this piece is for you. All of my furniture is unique and no two pieces are exactly the same.
