Brief Description:
On offer is a superb and robust Original 19th-century French Provincial Free-Standing solid Limed Fruitwood Kneehole Writing Desk.
The heavy and extremely sturdy piece is of a truly outstanding aged patination and limed fruitwood colouration.
The fabulous peg-jointed fruitwood writing desktop with a thumb-nail moulded edging and canted corners.
The whole of which is enhanced by the beautiful scrolled panels to both the cupboard door fronts and the rear of the desk.
The piece has one centre drawer, two cupboard doors, and one kneehole cupboard that is below the centre section.
All of the ironwork and the large lock escutcheons are original and intact.
The drawer lining is extremely thick and there is a large working key which fits both cupboard doors.
The images do not do this fabulous period piece any justice.
It screams 19th-century provincial quality and the colouration and patina are quite simply superb!
