Dragon Armor - Tiger 1 - Late Production w/Zimmerit
No. 62002, Vintage year - 2009, Scale - 1:72
Unit - 1./s.H.Pz.Abt.506 - this heavy panzer battalion was formed
in July 1943 around a section from 9.Panzer Division (III Abt. Pz. Rgt. 33). It
received a full complement of 45 Tiger Is in August 1943. It fought with
Heeresgruppe Mitte at the Dnieper and later at Krivoi-Rog (in battles south of
Korovograd). It fought on the Eastern Front from July 1943 to August
1944.
Campaign - Ukraine 1944 - the 506th was incorporated into General
Hausser's II SS Panzer Corps along with the 100th Jager Division. In March
1944, their focus was the line Rohatyn-Brzezany in efforts to take Pohajce and
move onto Buczacz.
Markings - Greenish tan with dark brown and white camouflage -
with white #4 on turret and zimmerit on turret and upper hull. The battalion
symbol (tiger holding the Vienna red and white shield) is on the rear of the
turret.
Please note - this is a Value Plus series that is made of both
diecast and plastic - and thus lighter than other Dragon Armor models.
Condition - new with minor wear on box.
