These tools can be used to resize (expand and compress) the teflon sealing rings for a Ford 10R80 automatic transmission input shaft.

Tools included:

Resizers for input shaft large sealing rings
Resizers for input shaft small sealing rings

To expand a ring, use fingers and slide the teflon ring down the expander until you can butt the small end of the compression tool against the seal.  Use the compression tool to evenly press the teflon ring down the expander until the compression tool begins to grip the expander.  Back the compression tool off, remove the sealing ring and check if it has been expanded enough to install.  If it is not expanded enough to install, repeat previous steps.

Once ring has been placed in groove, use fingers to surround the seal and lightly compress it into place.  Next use the seal compression tool to resize the ring.  Being careful not to allow the teflon seal to fold, slowly bring the opening of the tool over the seal.  Use the gaps within the tool to visually verify that the seal is staying located in the groove.  Use your fingers to squeeze the compression tool flared end to ensure the seal remains in the groove around the circumference as you bring the tool further over the seal.  If you feel a rigid lump, the seal edge has likely left the groove and the tool will need to be backed off, seal inspected and process re-started.

Install seals furthest from the end of the input shaft first and work your way outwards.  This will reduce conflict with previously installed sealing rings.

Core parts / seals not included; for display purposes only.  Color may vary.
