We are pleased to be offering today this wonderful and beautiful original finish straight out of a central Maine home burl walnut white and gray grained marble top three-piece bedroom set that dates from the 1860s to 1870s from the civil war era. It is a wonderful set that is in the original finish and has never been worked on. I have looked the entire set over and everything appears to be intact. The molding is all there, hand carved crests are intact, burl panels are in beautiful condition and the marble is in really nice shape. The set consists of an almost full-size bed, Victorian marble top drop center dresser and a marble top commode with a high backsplash. It is a beautiful set that is really nice and needs nothing other than a good cleaning. It is equipped with the original tear drop pull hardware, hand cut dove tail drawers, and even the hidden drawer on the drop center base.
The size of the mattress dimensions needed is 54 inches wide by 74 inches long. We can provide a quote on extending the bedrails if you desire. The overall size of the bed is 62 inches wide on the outside, 36 inches high on the footboard and 92 inches high to the crest on the headboard. The headboard features burl panels, carved burl trims, carved flowers and removable urn finials on the end. The siderails are all original.
The drop center dresser is 45 inches wide, 20 inches deep and 92 inches high to the top crest. The dresser is in real nice condition with the same 45 degree marble top. One of the knobs has come off, but we should be able to match it. All the keyhole escutcheons are intact. The dresser has two small drawers, two large drawers and a secret drawer in the base.
The marble top washstand is 30 inches wide, 16 inches deep, 11 inches high on the backsplash itself and 40 inches high overall. The commode has burl panels on the hand cut dove tail drawers with original tear drop ebonized handles like the dresser. The commode has double doors with raised panels. The backsplash is wonderful with a 45-degree angle on the candle shelves. The marble is white and gray grained with an ogee bevel edge along with the drop center dresser.
The set has circular dove tail, which really dates this set. You are getting all three pieces for one money. Shipping starts at $595 for a driveway delivery in our normal New England delivery area.
