This unique ensemble is from a Modes Royale pattern book from the late 1940's or early 1950's.  The off-the-shoulder long sleeved sheath dress has a black and gold lace overlay sprinkled with small black sequins.  The underlay is butter yellow and the lining is cream china silk.  It closes at the back with metal snaps.  The black satin redingote has dropped waist bodice lined in rayon in a crossed surpluce style.  The neck straps attach with a metal hook and loop.  The half circle skirt is self lined.  A matching clutch in black satin has elastic wrist strap and gold metal closure with metal snap under.
