Calibration of the Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge Industrial-882

Calibration of the Industrial-882 Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge Turn on the thickness gauge and press the "ESС" button.

A menu item will appear at the bottom of the display,

  • Select the "Cal" item to calibrate against the reference block which is located at the bottom of the device case,
  • Select "Vcal" to calibrate to a block of known thickness

If the calibration is not successful, then you need to make a "factory default", and then re-calibrate

To do this, enter the device MENU, select "Settings" item "Factory default"

  • Measuring Range: 0.039 to 8.858 inch
  • Resolution: 0.001in/0.01mm
  • Sound Velocity Range: 1000~9999m/s
  • Probe Specification: 5MHz φ10 dual-crystal probe;
  • Unit: mm/inch;
  • Working temperature range: -10~50℃,0~85%RH (No condensation)

Important Note!!!

  1. This Gauge cannot measure the thickness of coating on metal substrates. For this application you should buy “Coating thickness gauges”.
  2. This gauge cannot measure the thickness of cast iron, due to its big crystalloid composition.
  3. Coupling agent is necessary for measuring. Please note that our thickness gauge doesn't include the coupling agent.

Use coupling agent for measuring

Coupling agent is necessary for measuring. It is possible to use many different binding liquids: Gel, Oil, even water. For the best effect, it is recommended to use Ultrasonic Gel.

Please note that our thickness gauge doesn't include the coupling agent.

Cast iron

This gauge cannot measure the thickness of cast iron, due to its big crystalloid composition.

Coating Thickness

This Gauge cannot measure the thickness of coating on metal substrates. For this application you should buy “Coating thickness gauges”.
