This is one of the nicest vintage Jefferson Golden Minute Mystery clocks I have in my collection. The original motor assemblies are no longer available from the manufacture for the Golden Minute clocks. The new motor assembly had to be custom engineered to fit in this clock. These clocks are very collectable and very rare to find in this condition. In most cases if the original motor was not replaced, they will need to be sometime in the near future.
Total restoration was just completed on this clock. A new motor with a new brass drive gear was just installed. The replacement motor is heavy duty and runs a little hotter than the original motor due to a little higher wattage rating. The new motor is also slightly thicker in size. The bottom cover does not fit exactly flush with the case but allows more air flow for cooling. All gears were lubed and checked the glass and gear were checked for fit and tightness. The clocks finish is in excellent condition. The clock was bench tested and keeps perfect time.
The Golden Minute clocks are very scarce to find in this condition. You will have no worries with this clock for many years.
