Description

This dealer whip features a brown cladded leather handle, furnished with a nickel silver collar and end. The end is embossed with the renowned whip makers:
'Trade Mark
Crawley & Son
Makers
Peterborough
Warranted
Steel Lined'

'In the year 1861 Mr. Thomas Crawley started whip-making in Peterborough. He was the son of Mr. William Crawley, who was born at Bedford in 1836. Later the business was considerably extended, with whips being sent not only to all parts of the United Kingdom but shipped in large quantities worldwide.'

The end has a steel ball top with an inset Queen Victorian Joey threepence
