It is one of the most common quarter eagles of the 1840s, but still a scarce and desirable coin in any grade.

This coin has been certified by NGC, one of the leading coin grading services, as XF 40, meaning that it has slight wear on the highest points of the design, but still retains full details. It also comes in an old fatty holder, which is a thicker and heavier slab that NGC used between 1987 and 1997.
