On the Cover:

36 PERFECTA---HERE'S THE FIRST LOOK at one of the nicest '71 Charger R/Ts you may ever see. Owned by (who else) Tim Wellborn, this 440-6 beauty was not an easy turnkey deal, so see what hoops Tim had to go through to acquire this ride and restore it to assembly tine condition. An amazing piece of classic Mopar muscle to be sure.

MOUTHWATERING MOPES

16 CHRY-CAT '55---This is one of the cleanest swaps we've seen since Ehrenberg swapped his outhouse for indoor plumbing last week (featured in our sister pub "Flush Action"). Here we feature a really nice "real" '55 Chrysler C·300 mated with a 2018 Challenger Hellcat. It's a complete 'cat with all the stock mechanicals and bells and whistles that the factory installed wrapped in the stock Chrysler body. Check out the highlights of how this was done for one of the coolest cruisers to hit the road.

46 TOY STORY---Those diecast model Hot Wheels cars are fun to collect and play with when there's nothing else to do. But here's a Hot Wheels themed 2019 Sublime Challenger that you can't carry around in your pocket (unless you have really big pockets). Learn what the owner went through to create this non-trailered show car and how his wife chipped in by Hydro dipping the engine compartment and interior/ It’s a fun haul in the family-level change of pace from the horsepower junkie and go-fast crowd's breeds of rides.

64 HERE COME DA JUDGE---No, it's not some Pontiac GTO clown car, but a super sane '74 Duster owned by a Mopar Nats judge, yeah , that guy who dings you on points when sizing up your ride. We turn the tables on hizzoner and we size up his Duster that he bought new. There are some wild twists and turns in this story so you might want to keep the number of a chiropractor handy to get yourself untwisted after reading this.

70 MIGRAINE MAGNUM---Think you got problems, huh? We'll bet they're nothing like this Mo'fan went through after he bought his new '78 Dodge Magnum. You'll feel the nail-biting tension building as the owner races against time to get the nasty bugs out of his car before his warranty expires. Check out the tasteful mods to this performance-oriented Mope.

7& HI YD SILVER! AWAY!---OK, enough of the showboats. let's get serious. Here's a 2010 Challenger that the Lone Ranger would gladly trade his one-horsepower ride for. This street-driven Chally will cut 9s on the strip. Here's how it all came about and went together. The bad guys don't stand a chance against this ride, but how is Tonto ever gonna keep up?

TASTY TECH

60 IT IS JUST PAINT---It 's Tuesday and you have some time on your hands, so why not paint your steel wheels? We show you how to paint 'em on the car so you don't have to remove the tires. Ebooger comes up with a neat low-buck trick that uses a deck of ordinary playing cards-not the ones with raunchy pictures. Shuffle the deck and deal out the required number of cards and send us a picture. The wheel with the winning hand will be awarded a no-expense paid vacation to Haiti.

80 3G ON THE CHEAP---In this, Part 2 of our 3G/A-body swap saga, our tech/engineering hairstylist editor and Hip-Hop recording artist Ricko Ebooger along with Brian "Down Under" Dowell get real greasy as they bolt in a re-equipped $1500 junkyard 5.7 Herni into the dirty '69 Dart that was pulled out of an Oklahoma  cornfield. A comprehensive step-by-schlep  how-to covers all bases and shows all you'll need for this groundbreaking swap. Be on your way to a real low-budget supercar that just about anyone can afford.

SATISFYING FEATURES

24 THE BEST WING CAR COLLECTION YOU NEVER SAW---Here is a rare rook at an even rarer collection of a dozen pristine wing cars and more in private hands that the owners have decided to part with, so they are on their way to a Mecum auction. Even one-off neons! Check it out and have your checkbook ready.

26 BENDING FENCES---So you didn't make the 2022 Chrysler Nationals at Carlisle, PA (tch, tch)? No worry, we'll show you what you missed, and even if you did attend, maybe you didn’t see it all, so we'll show you what you missed. The event was a record buster with the car count breaking 3000 for the first - time ever. Carlisle is a non-stop extravaganza with celebrities, seminars, special exhibits including the 50th anniversary of the Charger, burnout and road course competition, thrill rides, cars for sale and cars that were not.

40 THE CHRYSLER GETS FRIED---If you think you're hot now, crank up your A/C before getting into this sweaty article. Part 2 of the saga that puts you inside the stock '77 Cordoba  that Ebooger and Dowell are attempting to drive 3500 mites from the west coast to the east coast with stops in between. You may want to get out when Mother Nature turns on the broiler, but then you'd miss all of the interesting side trips along the way. So buckle up, mop your brow, and stop complaining.

52 THE ONLY REAL MOPAR NATS---The Mopar Nats soldiers on at National Trail Raceway in Columbus, Ohio and serves up its usual excellent fare of tight racing, great show cars,  burnout competition and exhibition entertainment. With words and photography by our one and only Zooman, this event coverage will put you in the thick of the action whether you were there or not.
