People of a certain age will remember film strips like this. They were used in classrooms like a slide show but instead of
individually mounted slides, they are on a short roll of film with each
roll stored in a small metal can. A special projector was required to
show the strips. This one projects in the vertical orientation.
That's what I have for you
here. A 35 mm format film strip called Animal and Seasons, Seasonal Habits, by Curriculum Films, dated MCMLI (1951). It features illustrations and information about animal adaptations.
This strip is high quality. I has very few scratches at the beginning and end of the strip but no breaks anywhere. No broken sprocket holes. It will project well and easily. 29 frames, short leader, short tail. The
images are clear with excellent contrast. Printed on color stock, the film has a sepia tone quality.
The little steel can is tarnished
on the outside but shiny-bright on the inside. It has done a good job of preserving the film. It is labeled on the cap; Curriculum Films, Inc., 521 Animals and Seasons, Seasonal Body Changes.
I
have photographed several frames on a light table so you can see the
title slide and many of the ones following it.
