Quartz Epimorphs after Ankerite Specimen - Frazer's Hush, Rookhope, Weardale

A super specimen of Quartz Epimorphs after Ankerite from Frazer's Hush near Rookhope in Weardale collected in 1997. The drusy Quartz crystals highlight the formation shape of the Ankerite, and there is also some small amounts of Pyrite.

It measures 6.5 x 5 x 3cm and weighs 136g, and is best viewed under magnification to see the full detail of the crystals. (All weights and measures are approximate).

This piece comes from a from a lifelong collector of minerals who self-collected from all over the world and the UK, however he obtained this piece from the respected dealer, the late Pete Blezard.
