EVENING BAG IN THE FORM
OF A BELLOWS CAMERA.
French 1930's.
.
A most unusual French evening bag from the inter-war
art-deco period, shaped like a camera.

The body is covered in a black suede-like material and
closed it measures 6.5 x 3.5 x 2 inches (not including the strap).

The front opens in the style of a bellows camera to show a
mirror.  This mirror hinges forward to reveal the interior
of the bag.  Opposite to the mirror is a flap which lifts to
open a powder compact.  The brass "film winder" pulls out
 as a lipstick container.

No maker's label is to be found, but this is clearly a good
quality production.  The original card box is just marked
"Modèle Déposé Internationale, Paris".

The exterior is just a very little dulled but this has clearly
had very little use.  The compact has never held powder and
the bag is overall in lovely clean condition.

It is certainly a fun addition to any collection of vintage
handbags, or just to use for that special occasion.

I always have an interesting selection of magazines, comics
