Description:

What Is A Brojanica?
A little info on what they are for those of you who don't know what they are. Brojanica is the Serbian word for 'prayer rope'. (Greek-κομποσκοίνι, Russian- Chotki) Normally worn by Orthodox Christians, the bracelet is worn on the left hand and the 33 knots symbolise the age of Jesus when he died. A brojanica is supposed to be a praying tool similar to the rosary. You use each knot to keep track of where you are in your prayer. However they are now used less for prayer and mostly worn as symbol of faith. A brojanica bracelet is worn on the left arm. You roll it over you hand to your wrist. Traditionally they were given to you by a friend or someone who loves you but now mostly it's normal to buy your own.
Brojanitsa today is not only for Orthodox Christians, but Catholics and all others as well using is as souvenir or talisman.
You can see these bracelets on many celebrities.
They generally keep their color and shape for a long time, however when you shower be careful because they can stretch when wet.
