This vase is from the Moser factory in Chechoslovakia. Anton Kusak purchased blanks from Moser and they were sent to him to his glass studio in Seattle, Washington. He hired the best artists from Bohemia to decorate the Moser glass to the highest quality. I have examples in my collection of at least ten of these artists. The signature on this vase is from Wolfgang Berndt, signed W. Berndt. The subject of the artwork is of a hound chasing an elk through grassy woods. There are trees and shrubs around the whole vase. The work is magnificent. The detail is the best that I have ever seen on a vase of this type. The elk is perfect as it runs from the hound. The color and detail is incredible. Every detail is wonderful and the coloration is superb as is the hound. I have four examples from Wolfgang Berndt and In my view he is the best of the artists that Kusak had in his studio. The trees and the grass is well defined and the color is out of this world. I don't think you can find a much better example of work that came out of Anton Kusak's studio. I have a lamp on eBay also done by Wolfgang Berndt that you must see. This piece stands approximately 6 3/4" tall. The neck is comprised of ten cut and polished panels and the base also has ten cut and polished panels. The base is 2 3/4" wide and the opening is 3 3/8" at it's widest point. It is made of thick glass and is pretty heavy. If you would like more pictures just let me know and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Thank you for your interest.
