The first fashion dolls that arrived in the Somers and Fiel collection were two very hip young ladies: Willow Somers and Daisy Field-- these two are the best of friends, and live in London, England during the swinging sixties. Their fathers are joint owners of a chic department store called "Somers and Field." Needless to say, Willow and Daisy have their pick of the best fashions and accessories!

Created to fill the gap between the Gene and Tyler Wentworth fashion doll lines, Willow and Daisy (defined as Mod British Birds) are firmly set in London's Mod Era, particularly the Youthquake Movement. When creating the Somers and Fields collection for L.L Knickerbocker Co., Doug James and Laura Meisner decided to concentrate on bold 1960's fashion trends. The Mod Era, specifically the "Youthquake" Movement, was known for its vibrant use of colorful fabrics and juxtaposing patterns. James and Meisner were inspired by the retro designs of Mary Quant, Paco Rabanne, and Courreges.
