Museum Quality 1958 RCA Victor 1-BT-21 Six
Transistor Radio with BCS-4 Speaker box- Serviced
PRIVATE STOCK FROM MY PERSONAL COLLECTION!!!
Here
for your consideration is a Museum Quality
1958 RCA Victor 1-BT-21 Eight Transistor Radio with its Original BCS-4 Speaker
Box that has been serviced and works well.
The Antique White Radio is 7.25” x 4” x
1.75” and the Goldenrod Yellow Speaker Box is 9” x 6” x 6.5” and will fit anywhere.
My Tech Friend Tom recently serviced this set changing 8
capacitors and the battery holder and batteries.
Honesty statement: This set is known as a “Transicharg
Super” and originally came with rechargeable batteries and the Speaker Box was
also the charging unit for the batteries. 95% of these sets disappeared because
the rechargeable batteries corroded all over the radio and its speaker box.
Tom put in 4 standard AA Batteries and disconnected the
charging unit. It should last forever this way.
It plays well with a ton of volume and great tone-picking up
at least 12 AM stations across the dial during the day.
It should be a strong DXer at night!
The cabinet could use a very light cleaning to
really POP, but I’ll leave that up to you. It's not that I'm lazy, but most
people like them showing some age, and those who like them looking almost new
usually enjoy cleaning them to the level they prefer.
As my
radio collector friend Harvey says “Find me another set- Period!”

The eBay concept of "free shipping" is one of the 3 biggest lies.
We are the best packers on eBay, and pack YOUR item the way we'd like to receive it-if it was being sent to us.
We take extra care in packaging, (Bubble wrap, foam pellets, proper boxes, etc.)(NOT the wadded up newspaper trick) There is a cost for doing this right.
Our goal is to get it to you in good shape, and for you to not have to file those fruitless shipping claims.
Let's face it, once it's broke, it's broke.
We have lost a significant amount of money in packaging costs over the past 25 years, and will continue to do so to get it to you in one piece.
