Charles Schneider (France, 1881-1953) studied at the École des Beaux-Arts, first in Nancy, then in Paris. He also received drawing and modeling lessons from Henri Bergé.

After years of working for Daum, like his brother Ernst, they decided in 1913 to set up on their own in Epinay-sur-Seine.
After the war, they reopened their glassworks and named it “Société Anonyme de Verreries Schneider”. They produced Art Nouveau style lamps and vases with many floral motifs, sometimes also with animal figures. They quickly created their own stylized style and Charles also used bright colors in his designs.
He designed a series of vases produced under the name “Le verre Français”. These were colored glass vases with stylized designs engraved.
In addition, Charles Schneider also designed the “Jewellery” series, small vases and perfume bottles blown by the lamp. This involved a lot of technique, often the vases were decorated with molten glass threads or glass dots. The use of color in “Jewels” was often more delicate.
Schneider exhibited at various fairs, including the famous Exposition Internationale des Arts Decoratifs in Paris in 1925. Partly due to the business talents of his brother Ernst and sister Ernestine, his glass became known internationally, particularly in America where his work was popular.
