This print is from a book called Portfolio of Famous Paintings National Committee for Art Appreciation. The prints were handpicked in 1937 by Eleanor Roosevelt in an effort to boost morale after the Great Depression. Reproductions of 48 paintings from the 16th through the 20th century were chosen for the collection. The program to offer these reprints to the public was never launched, the books were stored, but rediscovered in the 1970s and made available to the public at that time.
