This stunning telecommunications themed silvered bronze plaque made by Medallic Art Co. in 1981 is a must have for any collector. Measuring 75mm x 48mm, this uncirculated medal showcases intricate details and craftsmanship.  The artwork depicts important milestones in telecommunications including an early telephone, a satellite dish and a ticker tape machine.  The reverse states that it was produced after a painting commissioned by G E C C and donated to the Smithsonian Institution.  This might have something to do with General Electric Co.  The medal is apparently not signed.  The edge of the plaque is not marked by MACO and identified as silvered bronze but other plaques from this series are marked.  The medal was previously owned by the Philadelphia area sculptor Stephen Robin.  Perfect for enthusiasts of medals, exonumia, and coins & paper money, this piece is an excellent addition to any collection. The condition is essentially as struck.  There is no wear nor damage.  The silver plating is intact.  One edge has holes drilled in it perhaps for use on a display stand.
