The students in Korhonen's basic sign language class at the Ashland campus of the Wisconsin Indianhead Technical Institute repeat the gesture. They are learning to make the sign for "girl." Korhonen, 35, who has normal hearing, is a teacher and professional free-lance interpreter of sign language for the deaf.Photo measures 8 x 8inches. Photo is dated 06-20-1982.
