It was made in 1989.  I purchased it new from a Lionel dealer for $800.  

I just tested it and runs great. It has a nice chuffing sound, smoke and whistle.  It has lots of pulling power.   

Super clean with no dust on it at all.

This huge (28 inch) engine and tender weighs just over 9 pounds.  The engine measures 15 inches long. The tender weighs nearly 3 pounds and 

measures 13 inches long.
