This stunning 1920's flapper celluloid or bakelite dance compact is whimsical and sweet with a colorful jeweled handpainted front panel. The dance compact is done in swirled green celluloid or bakelite and boasts a full, long, silky tassel.   The interior two compartments are for rouge and powder with a mirror on one side and a purse on the other.      The wrist strap is a braided cord.  The overall condition is excellent but the mirror is damaged in the corner.  There is a round glass insert which is removable in the larger circular compartment. It is signed in gold gilt Jeunesse De Fleur so I am assuming this is a French piece.   There are no cracks, chips, stains or warping on the celluloid / Bakelite. This one is a rare Art Deco beauty in form, design and condition. So Stunning! The green portion of the purse Measures 3" x 2" x 1.25.
