This rare Antique Turtle Border rug from Hammadan region is a lovely must-have example for the Oriental Rug enthusiast or collector. Measuring 3’ 7” x 6’ 1”, this hand-knotted wool and cotton rug is a perfect addition to any room, be it a living room, bedroom, the hall, or a bathroom. The rug features a beautiful all-over pattern with a unique stylized turtle and flower border design in shining coral, navy, peach, and ivory colors. It is in excellent Antique, 9/10 condition.

It has a pile height of 0.25 inches and is easy to maintain spot cleaning or with professional cleaning every decade or so. No worries on that front for the near future as it was professionally cleaned and secured in December of 2023. The rug is an original piece from the early 1900’s pre WW I Edwardian era, produced with a knotted technique in a village in West Perssia. And you gotta love the Turtles! They even have little claws on their feet!
