Sony CDP-X779ES CD Player for sale. Manufactured in Japan in 1992 with gold exterior face. Heavy, well-built electronic collectible for audiophiles.

CD is in good working condition. CDs play as they should including skip, ff, pause, etc. Display is clear and intact. I was advised by the person I received this from that the CD tray intermittently needs a tap to assist it closing. However, I have not been able to replicate that issue.

Condition is good but there are some notable flaws. The top left corner is damaged as some of the wood veneer material has chipped off. The prior owner added a small bit of adhesive to keep the frayed edge from additional peeling. There are abrasions on the top front edge of the unit, encompassing most of the top left side. The wood veneer on both sides has minor scratches and dings that are hard to capture in the photos due to the dark color of the wood. The top of the unit has minor scuffs and scratches. The screws in the top as well as some on the back appear to have some oxidation and there’s surface discoloration on the back face of the unit. Front face of the unit is in excellent condition. Overall the CD Player is clean, functional, and ready for future use. The prior owner had it in their family for decades and had it set up with a high end Marantz receiver and nice speakers. They were selling due to a move. It does not come with a remote.
