Handmade small decorative bowl.  This bowl is handmade on a wood lathe out of a block of African Padauk wood.  Padauk is an exotic wood with fine grain, open pores and a deep red hue.  Often used in decorative items, this wood has a beautiful sheen to it as the light changes.

This bowl was hand-turned by myself on a wood lathe from a block of wood measuring 4 1/2 square by 2 1/2 inches deep.   After turning using hand tools, this piece was sanded to 1000 grit and then polished with a 4 step wood polishing product.  Finally, 6 coats of furniture grade wax were applied and buffed for a natural, semi-gloss finish.

The design was not set, just what looked right as the wood was turned.  This piece, and every work I sell, is 100% HANDMADE by myself, not a resell of something from a "foreign country".  Each piece is a unique work of art made right in the heart of the USA in Grand Island, Nebraska.

Perfect for showing that small item that needs a base, or to show by itself, this bowl is a wonderful addition to any decor.
