this is a sweet moto frickin vest-ibule. i really love it and hope it never sells. i'd call it late 60's to mid 70's time era wise. this is a proper motorcycle vest in my opinion. if you do a search for used/vintage/leather/harley/vests on here you get about 306 hits and 90 percent of them are complete dogshirt. what is it with the V-necks, the swooping, extended deep V-necks, the V-necks with the little fruity collars like you're in some sort of old-time western saloon begging to get.. shot? and all the pins, patches, badges, side lacing (think bodice!) and whatnots- oh Lordy!! so much flair it makes my eyes squirm. how about you put on a vest that zips all the way up to your throat and actually does something like providing a little wind break action? hMmmh? even has badge grommets/holes for when you are on yer weekly neighborhood watch patrol shift.
this is a simple, quietly elegant, don't mind me- I've got a job to do and will require no supervision because i totally got this, vest.
size 44. dude wearing it is 5'11", 155 lbs, 31" waist, skinny and is wearing a light jacket underneath it... measurements are pictured.
i did no cleaning or conditioning of the leather before the shoot- but it could use a little conditioning. there are 2 tears in the lining (pictured). there is edge wear everywhere because it is old. some cracking of the leather on back of collar and under left armhole (pictured). some scuffs, scrapes, small paint? drips but no holes or rips on leather. the paints drips would 100% disappear with the *careful* application of acetone/finger nail polish remover (don't ever do this on a new jacket- on this one it would be totally fine..). seams are solid. all snaps and zippers function as god intended. will clean up nicely. lose the stupid sons of anarchy/harley patch and you're golden.
