Rare Art Nouveau glove box complete
with a vintage, wood glove stretcher. 
French. Purchased at a
French manor house sale. Covered in ivory silk 
edged with fine silk roping. 
The exquisite lid is hand painted with roses,
pinks and aqua/greens. With the original
key, the elegant escutcheon is carved mother of
pearl. Sides of box gracefully curve.
Lined with white leather. Hinges
on inside are peau de soie. 
Lock not working. Minor wear, minor dis-
coloration. Box used for gloves and jewelry.
Exceptional glove box, very rare to
find in silk. Glove stretchers included.
Dates in the last half
of the 1800's, Napoleon III.
