The American Screw Company was founded in 1860 in Providence RI and merged with the Eagle Screw Company and New England Screw Company soon thereafter. This created the largest manufacting of this kind in the US at the time.
In 1949, the American Screw Company moved their operations to Willimantic, Connecticut. The buildings survived intact until a July 1971 fire swept through the complex leaving just charred shells. Today none of the original buildings buildings remain.
