Japanese woodblock by Gihachiro Okuyama - framed.

This frame is vintage and made by SEKAI - DO. I am wondering if this is the early company of the now huge art supply store in Japan.

The wood block is attached to a paper folio or cover. It was framed in the folio many years ago. I have cleaned the glass but have not removed all original paper attached or around wood block. My guess would be around the 40’s or 50’s since I have seen many Japanese greeting cards made in this method. The frame is wood, and has an easel type stand with a very interesting metal hinge.

The artists signature mark in on wood block but no other signatures. Woodblock is 4.75x7”. The frame is 8x10”. There is a darker edge where paper cover was on the wood block. The paper around woodblock is stained but woodblock is fine
