From a fine New York City estate, we have a pleasure to offer you this Vintage Hepplewhite Mahogany Tambour Door Secretary Desk. Made in three sections, top features a large double door glass vitrine / curio / bookcase with 2 shelves inside, topped with it's original bronze finials on corners, flanking an American eagle in the center. Below the top is a center section with a pair of sliding tambour doors, and between them is a door featuring a phenomenal satinwood inlaid American Eagle. Inside of the sliding tambour doors are letter compartments and a drawer. Below the doors is a folding / flip front writing table surface supported by two slides on ends. Bottom part of the desk has two wide drawers, each with a pair original oval plate bronze handles. Standing on four downward tapering legs, also with a matching design. The desk is in good overall condition, showing light age / use wear, taken care of by the previous owner. Beautifully dovetailed drawers, has the original locks and keys. This beauty stands imposing 75" tall, 36" wide, and 17.5" deep, while the writing surface when unfolded is is 36" x 13.5. Gorgeous piece of American furniture, great for a house or an apartment!
