This kit provides the correct specification fuel line for “in tank” applications (ie where the fuel line is permanently immersed in fuel.) The 4 pipes required are supplied in the kit and are cut to the correct lengths.

Also supplied is a new Mahle fuel filter, viton O rings for the fuel pump housing and also viton O rings for the two quick release fuel line connectors.

Fuel permeates through all types of flexible fuel pipe given enough time to do so. Eventually the pipes become very soft and they can decompose and fail. If just visually inspecting the pipes within the tank, they can look ok - but if actually touching them the material is found to be very soft and will ‘smear’ easily on contact. Pipes that are not permanently immersed tend to dry back out and recover. Those permanently in tank do not, and require to be of a higher specification.

Nearly all in tank fuel lines now tend to be made of solid pipe, and it has become more very difficult now to find flexible lines of the correct size and specification as a result.

Some fuel injection components are obsolete for these Ducatis and contamination from decomposing fuel lines should be avoided!

I had to purchase much more of this fuel pipe than I needed just to obtain some when recommissioning a genuine Foggy Replica. I offer these kits just to recover some of that cost!

(A picture of the fuel pump assembly is included here for reference only and is not included with the repair kit. If you refit the pump housing back into the tank, it is a tight fit. That is how they are - the O ring supplied here is the correct one. Do take care to keep the pump housing square to the tank aperture and apply steady firm pressure. Sometimes they go straight in, sometimes it is a bit of a fight! )
