Description

A 19th century Renaissance Holmes Patent Folding Chair.

It has a carved head of a man at the top center of the crest and a carved dog head at the end of either arm. The wood is believed to be walnut. The seat and back are upholstered and the arms are matching upholstery attached at the finials on the dogs. The arms are torn and do not stay in place. On a bottom stretcher there is a label that reads Patent Folding Chair" and gives three 1871 dates.

Measurements (approximate):
Height to top of seat (at front): 17”
Height to top of crest on back: 42”
Seat width: 19" at front, 17” at back
Seat depth: 20”

As stated the upholstery arms are torn and don't stay in place. The upholstery most likely isn't original. The wood has a few scuffs but no chips or cracks and there are no other tears or holes in the upholstery.
